Upon hearing their new material, many people state that “this isn’t Coldplay”. Of course it isn’t - in the same way you’re not the same person you were 10 years ago. Allow the artists you love to change and experiment. You cannot choke any kind of development, seeing as that every direction of it will bring some kind of change. Change is important. It would have been worse to be fed new “Parachutes” and “A rush of blood to the head” over and over again. It wouldn’t reflect their musical capabilities. This isn’t mainstream!
